I am running the 12" DF clutch with the fidanza aluminum flywheel, and it is a great setup! It wont break the bank, but it definately gets the job done! I'm at 500rwhp right now, btw.

Will Can you shoot me a PM on how much a DF clutch and flywheel would cost. Right now I have a chatterbox Spec 3 with Fidanza alum flywheel. I'm only pushing 383 rwtq. I take the car to the 1/4 with 11.50" street radials and the lightweight set-up I have bogs every time I try to launch. Thanks.

Hi Guys I just wanted to clear a few things up…we do offer two different Dual Friction assemblies (11” & 12”) one DFX and one Light Metal here is the break down.
1) DF017010 is our 11” Dual Friction that can be used with most after market flywheels as well as the stock flywheel. We recommend this clutch up to 550 torque.
2) DF395010 is our 12” Dual Friction that may not work with some of the after market Aluminum flywheels because some of the after market Aluminum flywheels use an 11” heat shield/friction plate. The 12” Dual Friction is a great daily driver that will hold some serious torque while maintaining excellent control. This is my personal favorite for these cars that running in the range of 400-750 torque levels.
3) 01017010 is our DFX assembly that is a six puc sprung hub disc. This DFX will not be as user friendly as our Dual Friction but will hold some serious torque numbers. We had a local guy dyno 979 lbs. torque at the wheels with his Vette that is road raced and street driven.
4) LM017010 is our Light Metal assembly that is an Aluminum Pressure Plate that is @ 6 lbs lighter than a stock pressure plate. The LMC was designed for the road race arena or the guy looking to reduce rotational mass. The Light Metal clutch works well in cars that are at the 650 and below torque range. The Light Metal pressure plate coupled with the DFX disc works great for the cars making 500 lbs. of torque and up. We have had a few guys hold in the 1000 torque range but wouldn’t rate the clutch to hold that consistently.
I hope this helps clear up any confusion with the product?

Just wondering, what do you mean by not user friendlyon the DFX? Street wise or wearing out?? I'll be running a 500 HP car plus an additional 200 shot. Thanks.

By "not as user friendly" he is refering to the clutch is a more "grabby" clutch and the engagment is more harse than lets say a factory type clutch..i have the DFX and love it. My wife can even drive it, it IS more grabby, but nowhere near not streetable.....just more jerky, but it grabs like a bear

Only if the steel heat shield/friction surface on the flywheel is the same size or larger than the disc? Let me know what you come up with?

I'm guesing it does..
FWIW I got mine, and I'm going to be using the stock LS2 GTO flywheel, which I'm told is a stock LS1/LS6 flywheel. The stock disk was roughly 12" so it should be fine right? It looks like everything lines up fine, the plate just needs to be turned and balanced.

The DF395010 is rated to hold 750lbs. of torque so you should be well within the rage with some room to grow in power. Let me know if you have any other questions.

There are a handfull of them in vegas around the 450-500 RWHP range, clutch rocks until you put real tires on it.
It's in my car around the same area.

Just want to confirm that the 12" DF395010 will definitely work fine with my stock flywheel in my 01 z06. The flywheel will be resurfaced and they will be balanced together. Is my stock flywheel 12"??
This DF395010 sounds like the perfect street clutch for all but the highest HP cars and you can't beat the price! IF, however, I have to replace my flywheel too, that would change the picture and than I'd go with an LS7 setup...but at the cost of 10rwhp

its something a machine shop does. My stock flywheel was out of balance and my engine is apart to get pistons replaced under warranty and thats why I am already getting my FW balanced @ no charge, so I just need to add the clutch in my case. If someone else wants to use their stock flywheel they would need to pay for the machine shop to balance the assembly with the clutch, otherwise you will get vibration in the driveline

Your stock flywheel and clutch should both be 12" IIRC.
I can guarantee you the OEM flywheel is not allready balanced. Spend the money and have it 0 balanced from a reputable machine shop.
