Default Spec Stage 3+ with Stock Resurfaced Flywheel 0.20

I just bought a spec stage 3+ so I can launch hard on slicks at the track. I had my stock flywheel resurfaced 0.20 thousandths. Question is do I need shims? I would like to hear from people who have done this both ways.

Thanks

Well conventional wisdom says yes you need a shim. Your moving the pressure plate another .020 away from the slave from machining the flywheel.

No you don't need to shim it. I've done it twice without using shims. However, you do have to make sure your clutch fully releases when you push the pedal in. If it doesn't, you'll need to shim it. You should be able to determine beforehand if you follow the procedure RAM (I think) sends with their clutches.
