Shimming the slave will actually help with the problem. Right now, the slave is applying pressure at all times and pulling the throwout bearing away from the PP, that right there is the reason it is not clamping to its full potential. By shimming the slave it will release that pressure and not "pull" on the throwout bearing which should help the PP clamp harder.

Dude you got this all wrong. The slave is pre loaded on those tings the rod sits with the slave depressed a good 2" or so. By shimming the slave out it has the same effect as shortening the rod which does nothing to affect your geometry in any positive manner. Just buy a new flywheel and be done with it or by the sounds of it you'll be forever having issues with this. If not start another thread I'd like to get back on track here...

Speaking of back on track BTW Any updates from track use on this Southbend unit in LS cars? I'm thinking this might be the animal for me I'm about ready to order so updates would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Just wanna say their Customer Service is bad ***. I sent them back the clutch that wasn't working and they sent me out another one same day. I should have it by Monday and be putting it back in the car with a NEW flywheel.
