I hate my car After struggling with the transmission, for the 3rd time getting it rebuilt, I now have it back in... and the damn hydrualics won't work. I bought a new mcleod master cylinder and it worked fine last time, til the tranny died about 300 miles into its life. I'm bleeding it again, and it doesn't even suck fluid into the master cylinder. It worked fine before. I can leave the bleeder open and pump, and the reservoir will stay full. It doesn't suck in fluid, and I can't get a pedal. I have no idea what exactly is going on.. Its probably something stupid, but dang.. WTF?? I'm getting sick of my car.. and I'm about ready to sell it.. I'd let it go for $25, if I still didn't owe a good $12-$13k on it.
Re: I hate my car You need to get a mity vac and bench bleed it. I just went through this same problem and got very frustrated. Buschman has a good write up about this method.

Re: I hate my car I also chatted with somebody on the phone who said it wouldn't suck in fluid if it was a bad slave cylinder. Before I spend money on the mityvac, can somebody else chime in that has had the problem where the reservoir stays full during bleeding? If not, can somebody post a link up to buschmans method.. If that doesn't work, I'll try buying a new slave. Thanks!

Re: I hate my car Just an update.. fixed it.. bought another 16 cent roll pin to go in there, the other one has been in and out several times.. and it wasn't really tight in there.. upon closer inspection, the roll pin wasn't in there but a tad, and about to fall out.. I didn't think it'd matter much since the line was still in good.. but apparently it did, because it bled in a heartbeat, and the fluid actually sucked in...
