clunk from 1 to 2

clunk from 1 to 2 Ive got a weird sound when i shift from 1-2. its like the clutch is bouncing back and forth right as i push in the clutch and its extra notchy trying to get it into 2nd. the other gears are notchy but not like 1-2. when i push in the clutch though for the most part when shifting it makes a clunk sound. not having any other car that is or has been a standard trans im not sure what im hearing and doesnt feel right. any ideas? ls7 clutch set up BTW.
