Default clutch question

ok i have a spec stage 3 clutch disc flywheel and pressure plate. i had a bad rear main oil seal go out on my 00 T/A and sprayed oil on the whole setup. i was wondering if i went and bought a stock clutch disc if it would work with the spec fw and pp. any help is greatly appreciated.

As long as you have a Stage 3 (which uses a carbon-semi-metallic disc material) you should be able to clean the entire assembly with brake-clean and put it back in. You want to make sure you get all the contaminant off of the parts of course...but as long as you do it should be ok. If you wanted to get a disc...we can assist with that too. Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks!

well i was trying to get out of breaking myself with another disc. 200 dollars for just the disc seems a little high to me.

ok... check it out, i borrowed a mighty vac from a friend and tried to use that on there. it didnt seem like it did any good. so im thinking that maybe i left the bleeder valve cracked a little bit on the slave. because now that i mention it i do remember messing with it a little while i had the slave out. its either that or the master cyinder or something. but it just wont harden up like it used to be. another thing that makes me think that is i looked under the car yesterday and it looked like there was some fluid, not alot, but some dripping out of the crack in between the tranny and motor. but it did not look like oil it looked a little clearer. i didnt look very close but it couldve also been tranny fluid. i hope not. what are some thoughts on that. i did change my rear main seal already as posted above.

At this point all that we can tell you is that if there is fluid under the car, and isn't water from the AC, then you need to determine what kind of fluid it is and where it is coming from. Does it have any color at all? Have you checked your hydraulic reservoir to see if the fluid level is down? Have you checked your tranny drain plug to make sure it is tight? These would be the first things I would look at if there was a leak and the pedal was inconsistent. Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks!

have checked the tranny drain plug and have plenty of fluid. have looked at the reservoir and doesnt seem to be low.

another thing is that i think that my syncros are gone in third gear. almost everytime i shift into third unless i hold it in gear it will simply pop right back out. ill be at low rpms and low speed in third while surging and it will pop out of gear. everyonce in a while it will jump out and back in even when i am holding it in third. any suggestions? could this lead to some of my clutch problems.

Having a trans jump in and out of gear definitely sounds like there is an issue with the transmission internals. A clutch can't really do this...it just isn't possible. My thought is that blockers and or other parts could be damaged.

It is possible...because the spongy feel can result from master issues but the popping out of gear just seems out of character for an issue of this type. It looks like you have two different problems.

ok... i have a friend that, if all goes well, going to give me a centerforce to put into it... but it has 8k miles on it. but i say if i can get this clutch in there and it holds up after i replace the oil galley plug, it would beat the hell out of spending a shitload on a new one and have it still slip.
plus i am trying to have it ready to go to our local track day by the 19th and using this one will make that possible.
what are the thoughts on putting a clutch that is that used in my car. if it doesnt hold up, well at least i didnt drop a bunch of money on it... right?
