Default clutch grabbing late?

It seems when i'm taking off in 1st that the clutch is grabbing at the very end of the clutch being released, maybe in the last 5-10%, is that normal? It almost makes it kind of hard to drive, it seems when I got the car about 5k miles ago that it was more towards the middle or maybe 60% released, maybe it's all in my head. Clutch is stock as far as I know.

My stock clutch is doing the same thing (not normal). It's also hard to get into 1st most of the time. I just bought a new LS7 clutch and I'm having it installed Wednesday (before the stock clutch ruins my T56). I think you should do the same.

Your clutch is likely worn & getting to the end.
The clearance the disc provides between the pressure plate & flywheel help determain the pedal release point. As the disc wears the release will get higher.

It is best to buy another complate kit. This is due to the lack of flatness in the plate after it is used. Installing a new kit will provide you with better life expectency and capacity as the surfaces are flat. You should also resurface your stock flywheel or buy a new flywheel too. I do not suggest taking more than .015 off the the flywheel surface if you choose to have the OE unit machined. We also suggest having it ground versus having it lathed. I hope this info helps. Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks!
