Default Cant wait to do the drill mod!

I just got my car less than a month ago. I went to the track twice with it & ran shitty times. Mid to low 14s then low 14s to high 13s. Part of it was getting used to shifting the T56 at the track. The other problem I ran into was anytime I tried to do a 3000 rpm launch the car wouldnt shift. If I left from an idle, it shifted better. I did miss 3rd a few times the first time I went, that was with the shitty Hurst rubber bushing shifter handle. I do have a pro 5.0 shifter on the way, but after reading about this drill mod, it appears this may be the problem.

I would think it is. The trans was rebuilt before I got it so I wouldnt imagine its the original clutch in there, prolly a factory replacement. The clutch feels like its pretty good, just acts wierd at the track likeI said.

oh ok, just making sure i read that right. my main problem is getting into 3rd. it usually grinds when shifting at high rpms. i hope it works for both of us.

Word to the wise; stock style clutches are prone to this.
They hand up at high RPM's & cause the pedal to get crappy or even stick.
That & put a lot of heat in the clutch hydraulic's. Do the drill mod & see how it goes, but be prepaired alot have been here done that.

slightly better design in 01-02 but in my opinion if your doing work on your clutch or master you better do it while your in there
