Textralia help... I bought a used oz700 from a guy about 5 months ago and I barely opened the box to put the clutch in and to me the pads look pretty worn down... He said he measured the depth off the pads and it was a couple thousandths used which was nothing for a clutch like this... I wanted to know whats the depth on a brand new one, and how do people get this things rebuilt? And does everyone think its to late to say something to the guy, cause I'm pretty pissed that a spent 600 on a clutch that was suppose to in good shape and its really toast!!
That clutch still looks good. As long as your PP and FW dont have any cracks or heat spots and the diaphram isnt bent-put it in. And BTW Text used to use a stock FW in its kits. So you can get another and have it zero ballanced If the PP still loks good
i had it measured and its 0.037 inchs.... but if a couple more ppl chime and say its good i'm going to put it in cause this is the only thing stopping me from putting my car back together...

The guy shot you straight man. There's not much wear at all on the friction disk. If I hadn't ever seen one new, I would have been concerned like you as well. I really don't understand why there isn't more material from the start, but there just isnt.
Oh well, I have about 23k on my OZ700 and it's still breaking parts lol. 10 bolt twice, got a M9 and after the break-in I beat on it for the first time today and destroyed the drive-shaft. This clutch has no mercy lol.

same here, i bought a new one as was scared shitless with the amount of material past the rivets compared to the stocker. a couple of searches and i was just like ....damn this is what a high performance clutch looks like. i hope it scares me on the car as much as it did when i opened the box!
