I rebuilt the transmission. Didn't really replace much. Everything seemed to be in good shape except the mainshaft and 5-6 gear.

Anyway. I get it back into place and drive it for the first time.

I thought everything was going good. I didn't put the console back on so I could hear a lot more noise.

About a mile down the road when I put the clutch in I could could hear the transmission wind up, but I couldn't really put it into gear. It was either really hard to put into gear or wouldn't go at all until I stopped.

Sounds like the master and or slave doesn't it?

You don't think something inside the transmission suddenly failed do you? I can't think of what I could have done wrong, but I would think that if I did do something wrong it wouldn't even shift to begin with.

Sounds like a hydraulic/release issue to me. How did the pedal feel???

Definately sounds like a clutch issue to me as well .

Thanks. I'm so pissed. I apparently didn't do something right. Oh. Well. It was a learning experience anyway and I'm not out of any real money. The stuff I replaced needed to be replaced anyway. It's at a real mechanic now.
