New to a stick, is this normal?

Sometimes when driving, after I let off the gas, I am able to push or pull the shifter right out of gear w/o touching the clutch, is this normal?

Yep. You can also put it into gear without the clutch too. I do not recommend this unless you wanted to relace the tranny anyway

So what makes it have the ability to come out? Just not having a load?

Yup, you'll notice that if you are on the throttle and pull gently on it, it will stay in gear until you lift, then "pop" into neutral you go.

It is possible to shift one without the clutch, but if you are new to a stick, I'd not recommend trying it. You will likley break something expensive. It requires finesse, timing and a real good understanding of what is going on in the gearbox. Meaning, we'll save that lesson for another day....a long time from now (your wallet will thank you...).
