Default Spec twin question LS1 / LS2 difference

Can somebody tell me the difference between the LS1 and LS2 clutches? AND / OR The difference between a SPEC SC09PT (ls1) and a SC66PT (ls2)? Meaning I had an LS2 flywheel with an LS7 clutch on my LS1, it worked fine, when I swapped the clutch onto a 416 (LS3/L92), it also worked fine. Now, time for new clutch, I order a SC66PT (LS2) I am having the same issues with the high grabbing. I don't want to get into a "well you ordered the wrong part number" debate with spec. Why won't the two part numbers interchange? BTW I E-mailed SPEC on this and got no reply.

The stack height on these is the same...though there are some other differences that will not affect engagement point (will not lead to a high pedal). That being said is this a new unit or a used unit? Let me know and I will be happy to assist you further?

Thumbs up for SPEC TECH!
Thank you Jeremy, you already have helped. Removing the shim was enough to get the clutch back, the measurement looked super close, but dealing in 16th's I guess it is anyway. However let me ask.....why would someone ever order a LS1 clutch and not the ls2? If the LS1 is an 11 and the LS2 is a 12 and they have the same stack height. I just want to know which I should order and why? Clutch is "grabby" but very light pedal preasure.
Thanks again.....

We run the SC09PT or SC09ST .Both work great and hold our 800+rwhp cars no problem.

LS1? LS2? or LS3?
I cannot seem to find any information other than the LS2 clutch being larger diameter, and therefore heavier as to why they won't interchange. From what I am seeing from starting with an LS1 and going larger they will interchange. The SPEC grabs higher than the LS7, but from what I read that is normal. BTW, I twisted / stretched the driveshaft loops where the rear U-joint goes. I was able to poke the U-joint out with my finger, is that a bad thing? or a good thing?

The most obvious benefit of the 11" unit is weight savings. That and the fact that there is an Aluminum Pressure-Plate option for the SC09 Single Disc models and this is not available for the SC66 models.
