how much and long do you think it will take to buy a new sycro and put it in my tranny??? thxs

You might as well rebuild it IMO. You have to pull the trans & disassemble it anyway.
I'm sure the rest of it is in need of attention too.
Plus the fact is you wont really know what you need $$ wise till it's pulled apart & inspected anyway.

You could probably have someone replace the syncro while the unit is still in the car . Personally , I would not even screw with it . I'd drop the unit and have all the syncros done along with the updated 3-4 fork . There could be other issues inside as well just waiting to give trouble .
