Yeah, I've always heard its around 125 lbs dry and after manhandling that thing out from under the car in a driveway I definitely believe it. Just imagine how much that thing would weigh with an iron case.

One site I found says a t5 w/ bellhousing only weighs 87 lbs. Now I'm curious how much that 3.8 v6 weighs. Its probably heavier than the ls1.

Most T5's with out the bellhousings are about 75 lbs dry . I am pretty sure the T56 with out bellhousing is around 135 dry . Tremec TKO's are around 110 dry .

From what I gather, the 3.8L is the same weight as an LS1

The T56 with the after market gears probably does weigh a few pounds more than a stock one . I have never compared the two on a scale .

Here is a side by side comparison of the size and weight of a T56 vs. T5 .

Looking at that t-5 I'm curious how they get the shifter far enough back to fit through the hole. Do the v6's have a remote shifter like the GTO's?

^^Have you ever seen how far back the Engine sits in one of the V6 cars..they are in there..

Do we have an actual verified weight of a T56, full of fluid without the Bell Housing?

The weight of a T56 is different between models but the Fcar version is 120-125Lbs. If you package it in a sturdy box you will be close to the Fed Ex limit of 150 lbs ( cheaper rates).
