Ok to drive????

My car isn't engaging 3rd gear if i release the clutch with it in 3rd it rattles/shakes then pops out. All the others work fine.

Can i drive the car on a 150 mile roundtrip? (Without using 3rd of coarse) Im i in danger of creating more damage?

Not really . Its popping out of 3rd because of a work shift fork / pad / syncro issue .

seems like it might be fine, as long as its just happening in third.

Yeah, just skip third and you will be fine. Looks like a trans rebuild is in your future.

Whats the best and worst case scenario.

I want to make a 100+ mile trip tomorrow.

Not really a best or worst case . It will need a complete rebuild with new syncros , seals and wear parts along with upgrading the 3-4 shift fork . You are probably looking at around $900-$1000 not including the r&r labor .
