Default M6 Gurus please help!

ive owned a ton of cars with manual trannys and never had the problem: when i speed shift..i think my clutch doesnt fully engage until its just about all the way out..because when i let it out really quick i still hear a little bit of a free rev, and then it chirps the tires and keeps hauling ***...but when the car is cold..it hardly ever does it..ill bang second hard and find myself in the other lane. is this a prime example of 98-00 hydraulics in the f-bodys? because i dont think the clutch is worn? and if so ..will the adj. master and new slave fix this? and also..im starting to get alittle crunch when i slam second hard..it still accepts the gear..but with a little crunch?...i dont know..help!

Updated hydraulics may help, but it sounds like a pressure plate problem. What clutch are you running?

The drill mod is free and will greatly improve the speed at which the clutch engages/disengages. Do a search for how to do it. May also be the clutch itself, but I'd try this first

thanks guys..i have read about the drill mod and read up on some how-to for these hydraulics..i still have my stock clutch, but ive got the spec stage 3 with alum flywheel and an upgraded slave.
do you think i can get away with the drill mod and the slave? or do i need the adjustable master also? i havnt touched it yet, and im kinda worried about gettin in there and having problems...i just read about so many guys with way more ls1 and t-56 experience having probs and still being stumped...never the less..i gotta get my feet wet sometime..thanks guys

Drill mod will fix it!

With a stock clutch, the adj master will be no help. The Adj master just allows you to adjust the pedal. This is needed for an aftermarket clutch. Do not buy any adj master but the McLeod. Its the only one that pushes more fluid, all of the others are just stock masters with the arm cut and made adjustable.

Your problem is the fluid is not returing fast enough. This is caused by the small hole in the line. Drill mod will fix this. GM actually did that on purpose to allow the clutch to slip just a little due to the high HP and Touque of our cars.

Actually, you can make the stock master push more fluid by cutting the cone piston stop inside the cylinder housing. I did.

Hey guys! I am extremely new at this and have recently started mods on my '02 Ram Air Firebird M6 (air box lid, pro 5.0 shifter, hooker headers, Corsa exhaust). I get great help from my husband, but haven't come across this topic yet. Is this a relatively simple mod? Does it help? Is it necessary? Or is it not an issue with the '02s?

thanks a lot for the input guys...your a huge help...ive got enough bolt-ons and on top of what i have ive got true duals and longtubes going in soon...would this be the best time to put my spec stage 3 in with the new flywheel? ill be creeping up on about 330-340hp ,im not really worried about doing any mods on the car myself except for these hydraulics..i know next to nothing about them other than what i have read and seen. the drill mod seems easy and im not going to do a master..just a new slave...im just hoping im able to bleed everything right and make it all go smooth in the most painless way possible. any more input? thanks
