Pulled from my 1998 Trans Am, with 207,725 mi. Transmission was professionally rebuilt by Aamco (see receipt) with lots of new and updated parts. Synthetic oil and trans fluid always used. Engine/trans has been stored indoors in my garage since I pulled it in 2017. See videos below for one of the last drives I took in the car before pulling the engine, as well as a recent set of photos and video showing the engine easily turning over by hand. While it is a higher mileage engine, it was babied most of its life. It was driven back-and-forth to work by the woman who owned the car before me, to the tune of 102,000 miles in the first 5 years. I drove the car back-and-forth between northern and southern California more times than I can count. It's never been to a track, never been raced, it was just a good long-distance daily. The car itself was also setup as such, with tall 2.73 rear gearing, CD changer, lots of options like traction control, but NO sport seats, NO WS-6 handling package--a good highway cruiser. I never really understood how people could buy mystery junkyard engines without knowing if something was wrong. At least in this case, you know where the engine came from, that it works well, and doesn't have something broken internally. For as long as I've owned it, if you so much as look at the ignition key, it fires up instantly, and returns 24-27 MPG highway.

Engine has slow oil leak (about 1 Qt./10,000mi), most likely from oil pan, so I recommend replacing this gasket while you have the engine out of the car. You can throw some new rings and bearings in it if you really want to freshen it up, but it runs fine as is.
