Air Filter
- No-name cone filters usually work fine as long as they’re not overly restrictive or oiled (which can gunk up MAF sensors).
- Make sure it has the correct ID to match the MAF housing and is mounted securely to avoid vibration-induced sensor issues.
LS1 MAF (1998 Camaro)
- This is a 3-wire MAF with integrated IAT sensor — common and compatible with many Gen III LS harnesses and PCMs (like 0411 PCM).
- It must be properly calibrated in your tune — especially if you're using a non-stock intake tube (diameter and shape affect airflow readings).
- Be aware: the early LS1 MAF is 3.5" diameter, while later Gen IV engines used 5-wire 4" MAFs — don’t mix them without accounting for wiring and tuning differences.
Corvette Fuel Filter/Regulator
- Excellent choice for return-style systems — provides 58 psi and works great with most LS injectors and rails.
- Plumbing tip:
- Feed line: From pump to filter/regulator
- Return line: From filter back to tank
- Output line: From filter to fuel rail via -6 AN
- Feed line: From pump to filter/regulator
- Keep the filter as close to the engine as possible to reduce pressure drop and potential vapor lock issues in hot environments.
