Default Ram Air Hood

Has anyone looked into making a ram air hood out of a stock none ram air hood. I was working on my car last night and noticed that I could Drill a few holes in the bottom beam of the hood and the air would have a direct flow into the air filter, I'm not talking about weakening the support but just 3 spaced out 1 inch holes. Has anyone every tried this? J

I have seen it done but for about 400 bucks you can have an aftermarket ram air hood.

I've thought about doing the same thing, but with my air conditioning out and the bottom of the air filter plate cut I get plenty of air coming up from the air dam under the car. Probably even more then the ram air hood anyways.
