Place to race near Chicago I'm gonna be wakin up the Z soon (Spring's almost here!). I've had a Camaro for a while but only as a daily driver. I've never taken a car to a track before, but I can already hear it calling my name. Problem is, I don't really know where to start. Any good recommendations around the west Chicago suburbs? Any advice for race newbies while we're at it?

You have a few options.
Great lakes drag in Union Grove WI, Byron Drag in Byron IL ( close to Rockford) and Rte 66 in Joliet. They all have websites and schedules. I have only raced at Great Lakes and its a pretty nice place. I go there quite often during the year.
