my transmission has been slipping for about a maybe 2 months now and really want to get it fixed before summer time. i am not too sure the problem right now but its not throwing any codes. money is an issue, i want to save up at least enough to cover a rebuild if i bring it somewhere and its not something simple.
i have already talked to guys at speed inc and flp (both very friendly people) and they only really deal with replacing transmissions, so does anyone know any reliable transmission shops round the southwest chicago suburbs who can rebuild a 4l60. i am also gonna save up to throw a stall in too.
i have heard bad things about aamco transmissions and only lasting a few thousand miles before needing repair again. any input helps.

I figure any reputable trans shop will charge you around $1000 to R&R and rebuild using stock parts. I say save up and get a built one through one of the sponsors.

Another vote for RPM. I love mine and they stand behind their work. I had an issue that was not their fault and Rodney took care of me.
