Anyone know of any good machine shops in Central Iowa that have experience with LSx motors?

I'd say go somewhere outside of the area.

Depending what needs done...
I have had JR motorsports in Ankeny help me with some of the work on mine. But they don't have any of the dedicated tools for them, but they can do some things. This year Axle at JR's is looking at doing some LSX tuning and playing around with some engine building.
Honestly though, best bet would probably be out of town.

not much you can do with an lt1? i'm confused with that statement

depending on what you want to do...any competent sbc builder can handle building the bottom end of an lt1

I'm thinking of letting conger tackle my bottom end when I get some pistons for it.

What i meant is that you can do more with a LS than a LT..A LT will not make the power a LS will so why bother.

Because the point of a bracket car is not to be the fastest but the most consistant

+1 My 414 was built by Hecht he also did a valve job and installed a patriot dual gold extreme spring kit in my afr heads. I've been real happy with the motor and if the damn economy would pick up I'd put some boost to this sucker and see what it can handle...lol

I doubt I will make any passes this year, but I might show up once to see who's doing what

Back on topic: I just pulled out my invoice from Heckt Power products and Advanced auto. For the quality of work that was done the price is right
