illinois emissions testing changes
illinois emissions testing changes well i recently put an ORY pipe on my ss and now i hear that testing may have changed to th point that they might be able to tell that i am using o2 sims or see and codes or emissions crap that has been deleted. does anyone have any info on this? by the way this source is a friend of a friend, so this may be complete bullcrap
If you installed sims neatly it would be a matter of
visual inspection. A computer scan could certainly
find out that a non-stock tune was in place. Whether
the Smog ***** are that sophisticated, I couldn't say.
But a dealer could, so it's possible. Of course dealers
have a lot fewer models to deal with and factory
supported tools.

Post this is the Midwest regional section. I just got emissions the other day and all they did was hook up to my Jeep's OBD port and checked for codes I guess.
There is no visual inspection, and I have heard from multiple IL f-body owners that if you aren't throwing any codes, you're good. So a tune to delete any codes is all you need and you should be good to go.
