Wondering what the procedure (and cost) is for running at Route 66, have never run there (or at any strip for that matter) and would really like to get into it.

Since its a nhra track they do have a few rules that has to be followed but it's ok. If you check the drag racing section here it has all the info. The price is $25 for the day.

I ran there a couple weeks ago. The track is very nice!

It's $15 to get in and then when you go through tech they charge you that $25. I had to borrow money from my buddy because I thought it was only $25 too.

If you have street slicks, you should be able to crack 12s!

When in the inspection, just tell them your car is stock and they won't bother you!

FWIW, if you have an aftermarket turbo of any kind (even if it's on a 15 second Honda), you have to have a fire jacket.

Not sure how many turbo guys there are in the MW, but if you're bringing import buddies, no upgraded/aftermarket turbos without fire jackets.

True that! they are very stricked at 66. I took my 17sec v6 firebird to the track long time ago and they would not let me race it cuz i didnt have jeans on.

I'll be happy if I can just get 3 runs. I believe you need a helmet if your car runs 13.99 or faster..(I Think). Does the helmet have to be Dot/Snell approved?

If I can get my broken wheel stud fixed I'll be there for sure. Hopefully I'll be breaking into the 11's with the new tires.

Yes, you need a helmet, and yes it needs to be Snell approved. The oldest date you can have is Snell 2000.

I typically have love for the track but the last T&T in june killed it for me. I figured with racing all day I would get a ton of runs. NOPE! typical 66 crap. They ended up running a jr. dragster points race( it's not on the schedule either) the same day and the street cars get screwed. I was there from 9am till 5:30 and got 4 runs. What BS.

FYI, anyone who is spraying will also need a firejacket.
