Default Finally found another job...

Found a job through a temp agency over here in the south suburbs. I start on Monday at a warehouse in Alsip. Very close to my house and it pays alright plus they're union as well. Can't wait... just thought I'd share since I'm pretty excited.

Congrats!

I've been part of the early retirement club since October 2nd. Wonder if I'll ever rejoin the workforce?

I just got a letter from the DOL in indiana saying i'm eligible to extend my unemployment again for 20 weeks and ~ $6900 (322 a week) plus i'll probably get the $25/wk raise that went into effect earlier this year. i haven't been on unemployment since mine ran out in february

Close. I worked there 10 years. I'm a couple months away from 30. I didn't exactly quit, they forced me out by negating my position and wanting me to take on a role I wasn't willing to do. I would have liked to stay 5 more years, then I could have retired for good.

something isn't right though. My letter says $6911 but according to the site it's $6114 of which $4,319 is already used. Before i extended it, it was $4319 used of $4319 available. I don't see how thats a 20 week extension @ $322 a week. looks more like 6 weeks to me.

I just got my extension but I started this job. So I'm just going to report my earnings to the office when the next certification letter comes in the mail. I just got back from my first day and it's alright. It's a job...

I really don't know how it is either. She already had it extended once.

yeah mine was extended once already. but i think i had another extension i didn't use possibly? maybe they extended it again so its still on the second extension and not the 3rd they sent me. i guess i'll find out around the end of the year when it runs out again. for some reason it let me claim 3 weeks at one time for a few weeks of november so today i got $940 ($290 per week x 3 plus the 3 $25 weekly things, so now i only have around $1000 left to claim before i hit the $6114. i get $322/wk before tax) so i transferred $300 into my checking account and will probably do that a week until i get under $200 or so and then i start taking like $50/mo or less so i can keep having something to deposit into my checking account so the bank doesn't charge me a $5/mo fee.

it will be nice not having to take money out of my savings account for a while

So there is either an $800 discrepency between what i can claim ($6114 Vs the letter's $69xx) or i haven't actually started collecting any of the $6900+ that the letter stated (i doubt this is the case)
