Default What Is The Midwest Cash Cow?

I'm sure PSJ can knock this out quick since he's in HR, but I want more input!

What's the "Big Thing" in the Midwest?

The South has Oil, and the West has Tinsel Town(Theater/Acting)
The East Has Big Business, as well as Theater and Music.

What about the Midwest?

We've got a lot of "business" here, but what's the "Big Thing"?

Or do we not have one?

i too am in nw indiana and this area sucks. the weather sucks, the traffic sucks, you have to either put your car away 4 months a year (like i do) or watch the road salt turn it into a pile of rust. i'm only up here cause the rent is free and i'm like 10+% of the rest of the country with no income, lol.

Corn x3. The whole ****** country runs on corn...its a damn good cash cow.

that and fat people...we have lots of fat people...but that might go hand in hand with the whole corn--> high fructose corn syrup thing.

the big thing is hot rods, because the midwest is where it all began. thing that sucks is the weather, but we have more appreciation for our cars when the spring/summer roll around.

I was also think corn but I definitely agree with you here. In the spring/summer months there are car meets and shows everywhere! It's a great hobby to be a part of.

The auto industry (both domestic & foreign). Indiana is second in the automotive manufacturing industry only to Michigan, and that's even after a lot of our jobs left the country.

We're also known for rust......hence the rust belt.
