Default No front plate in the works.....

I just saw on the news where there is a legislator for IL that is pushing for no front plates required on cars in IL. He says it would save the state over a million dollars a year. Anyone know who it is pushing for this? We need to start mailing him daily!!!!

.

I don't like it, even though I don't use one on my cars.
It makes it that much easier for scumbags to get away with stuff.

That would be awesome, even though I've never really been hassled for it before. Just got a warning once.

Wish Ohio would do that... half tempted to leave the plate off when I replace the bumper as the new one won't have any accommodations for a front plate anymore (just stick it under the passenger seat or something so I have it with me).

I hope so too, but i never run mine anyway. So I guess it doesn't matter much. One less thing a cop can pull me over for would be nice though.

I wish Maryland would pass a law like that. I have been pulled over about 5 times for that, and after 2 tickets and $100 later i decided to put it on.

WI was looking into this too but it fell through so we are still stuck with them here although I haven't had one on my car since the day I bought it and have only been stopped once but I would sure like not to draw extra attention with this and just have them get rid of it

no front plate being legal would be great, then again not raising registration from $79 to $99 for 2011 would be good too.

Buy old cars. I pay $30 every 4 years for plates on my Nova.

Just 13 more years till I can do the same with my '98 car.

i have a lake house in mo that i spend 3 or so months out of the year at and my family friend that lives there says a front plate isnt required, he even said that a rear license plate isnt required on trucks as long as you have one on the front of the truck. and he is a retired police officer.

but either way in IL they should, my dad gets about 4-6 tickets a summer for no front plate cause he has sworn that hes not drilling any holes in the front bumper of his c6z.. i cant blame him.

SSmoken is right, they are required. I have plenty of friends who have tickets to prove it. The only way you can get away with one plate on a truck is if you have 18,000 pound tags and it goes on the front. (I used to have a 3/4 ton truck).
