I had a great time hanging out. Thanks for inviting us.
Here's my video, lots of camera shaking and bad editing.

Just wanted to let everyone know, I made a facebook group to try and keep everyone up to date on things in one place (since this has gone across a few different boards). If you search "Purdue Cruise" you should be able to find it. Might also help to put faces/cars to names/screen names.

Haha, well, I only looked for a song that had that play length. Otherwise, I would have picked comfortably numb. LOL

I had a great time, on a great day, right up until I blew it up!
It was the first time out for the car this year, with a new Hurst shifter installed over the winter. I guess I should have spent a little more time getting used to the shifter before trying anything at high RPM.
Long story short, I ran it to the top of third, missed fourth, found second instead. Sounded like it hit about 20K RPM. However high it went, I've lost the number five cylinder. The plugs, rockers, push rods, and springs are all fine. So, the problem is deeper than the top end. The heads will be coming off soon.
Thanks for putting this together, already looking forward to next year! I'm sure I'll have it back together by then!

Well, I went to the body shop today and theres more damage than they originally expected. No clue when i'll get the TA back, they had to call Indiana Farm Bureau to come back out to re-assess the damage.

pretty bad, the frame is bent, rear quarter panels are buckled, the hatch is off center and the ttop holders are broken because the bumper caved in pretty much 3/4 of the "trunk". everything from the rear end forward seems to be fine, all the noticeable damage is behind the rear end.
i'll hopefully know more tomorrow, wed at the latest.
I'm more worried about it turning into a rebuilt title than getting totalled.

Rick,
Not to give you any false hope (or not) for a totaled car, but my bill was about $7,000. My hatch and spoiler needed to be replaced. The bumped was salvaged, the taillights and lock were replaced, and the back end pretty much needed to be welded in. I didn't have any frame damage, and my quarters did not buckle. Little note to everyone, they don't make the hatches for our cars anymore, and the taillights are around $400 a piece...new.
Good luck, Rick. I hope this car is either totaled, or able to be rebuilt with a clear title. The rears of these things are the worst to get hit because those rear fenders are not body panels...
