I know a neighbor of mine talked to Mrs. Nevinger after Norm passed away, and made her an excellent offer.
She said no thanks, she wanted to keep it.
If it was sold this winter, I hope she got a good deal, and was not tricked into giving it away cheap.
The place could be an excellent track. I've had a lot of fun there over the years.
I hope someone with a clue can make a top notch facility out of it.
Something that will be around for a long time!!

I admit, I am out of the loop this year. I have not heard anyone say for sure who bought it.
A couple of people are trying to cryptically say denny bought it?? They also have a new manager supposedly??
As I said, it was always a great place for us to race. It also had many many problems,
but you deal with it and go or not.
The 1st thing that needs to be rectified is all the rocks. It's asinine that a dragstrip has rocks all over the place.
2nd is the pipe that collapsed in the staging lanes. That thing collapsed in ~04-05,
and should have been fixed immediately.
The bathrooms are what they are. Stuff like that don't bother me that much.
Having nice female bathrooms would be nice. It makes it much easier to get our wives to come with us.
Better tech would get some of the rat traps off the track. I do admit I ran 9.88 there with no cage,
so I have also been dumb myself. At least mine was not a leaky POS,
it just ran faster than I should have without any safety stuff.
Damn, how could I forget. Lights at the big end, and cut the damn trees & brush back.
Besides being a huge safety issue, when we get out to turn off the computer and pick up chutes.
I don't appreciate the branches hitting my paint, and all the crap in the chutes.
Every pass the chutes get full of leaves, pebbles & little twigs.
It's a damn shame that Norm didn't sell it years ago. I know about a couple of the guys that wanted it over the years,
and the place would have been a top track in the country.
They would have done a lot, and it would have been a true national event quality track.
Let's give denny or whoever a chance, if it's actually sold, and not just a name change.
If it stays messed up, let them have it. If it slowly gets better week by week, month by month,
let them know it also. Support them as much as possible, it goes both ways.
As much as I bitch, I also try to thank them and show appreciation when deserved.

I'd rather take a **** on one of the trees in the turnaround than go in the actual bathroom.

You must of made a pass after me. That's what I always do.
At least I did until Tracey saw me one time and yelled at me.
She absolutely hates when I pee in public. She just doesn't get it's a guy thing!!

We used to always use the tower bathroom. Then when they had the break in at one of those Fri night debacles,
and they ripped apart everything and stole some stuff. They told us we couldn't come in anymore.
I didn't know they had it open again. That room was sealed after that??

VSI would have really stepped it up, but Spies would have made it top notch.
I heard he really wanted it bad, and wanted to do a big time upgrade.
He would have made it much safer, and much nicer to get fast cars to come back.
Obviously if he owned it, he would want to test his own car there, which is pretty damn quick.
I know a few guys would have bought it in a heart beat, even I wanted to buy it, but my wife said no way.
Plus by the time I heard Norm had died, I was told his wife had already said she was keeping it??
