Default chitown guys help ASAP, car wont start!!!

Hey guys my camaro is acting like ****.

i was driving today and all the gauges died while driving down the street.

i got home and decided to turn the car off and restart it to see if the gauges went back on. BAD IDEA.

The car wont start. absolutely nothing when i turn the key. i had a buddy turn the key while i listened for the stater, the starter engaged when the key was turned but there was no sound like the engine was trying to crank over. (silent from inside the car) no "Wha wha wha wha" or nothing

Bad ignition, blew a fuse i have no idea! the headlights work, along with the radio and all other accessories.

someone please help fast, i need this running an hour ago.

thanks soooooo much

Kevin

instrument cluster fuse.

your rear taillamps (not brakes) are on the same circuit too...so it might be rear taillamp fuse...those are probably out while driving as well.

i'm pretty sure its gauge cluster or instrument cluster or something similar to that. its in the fusebox located on the dashboard side adjacent to the drivers door.

also check the wire for the alternator that goes to the gauge, mine did the same thing and it was shorting out.

yes. needav8 could be right as well...the part is called the excitor wire...usually the connection to the actual alternator goes bad. if you still need help give me a call i pm'd ya my number...i have a couple excitor wires laying around too in case ya can't find one and the fuse doesn't do it.
