It might still be out there somewhere. By running only a VIN, it might not show up if it is titled in another state. For example, running only a VIN of a car titled in Indiana through LEADS in Illinois will not give any info unless it's stolen or wanted. A plate would give all the details though. That VIN does not show up as being registered in Illinois. It could've left Indiana way back when and is in some other state. Might be able to start at the dealer you traded it in to and go from there.

interesting qwest, i would contact camaro clubs in that area or also contact a PI and ask if with the vin he might be able to locate. just a thought goodluck.
