Whoaaaah! Where did all of this come from?...Settle.
Robb is looking into it. When he finds out for sure what has happened, he will let us know. In the mean time let's not start pissing people off w/ non-founded accusations.
Yes, the initial statement made by Robb is that the removal was inadvertent. So, until otherwise stated by Robb, it was inadvertent.

From my understanding, it was inadvertent - it was not me, that I can assure you. The guys at IB are trying to recover the data, so hopefully all is not lost. When we are given mod powers, we aren't given instructions on what does what...sometimes we fat-finger things, and that's what happened here.
As for this Saturday...unfortunately, no. This weekend is my wife's birthday, and I've had plans on the books for a while. I'm also working on getting settled in a new house, so things are a bit hectic right now.

the person of power I talked to said this couldn't have been an accident. And I don't think it could be either.
There's no way that an accidental click could delete a entire social group.

I run Vbb software and have for many years on CR.
Deleting a social group is a multi-step process, not just a one click and gone.
First, you have to open two sub-links in the Control Panel to get there. Once there, you have to select from a drop-down bar next to the group (which is in a menu with all other groups). Once you select it, it asks before deletion if you'd like to move all existing users to another group first, which you can confirm and select or deny. Then finally you can delete the group.
So no, I personally don't think it was an accident due to the copious amounts of choices needing to be made before group deletion.

Guys, it was an accident, good grief, bunch of conspiracy theorists up in here.
A moderator (from the midwest) was trying to remove himself from the group, and mistakenly deleted it.
I don't have a firm ETA, but the group will return, likely in the next day or so.
cheers,
robb

Lol, maybe time to reorganize the Mods. He coulda removed himself in his User CP, not the entire group ![Bang Head](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_banghead.gif)
It's cool, I was just stating the obvious from personal experience.
BTW, what is "IB"?

Funny that it's easier to delete a group from outside the adminCP, than from within it.
IB = InternetBrands

Thanks for your feedback, please be assured that we will return your Ohio LSX group here on LS1Tech ASAP.

Thanks for letting us know. We all screw up & make mistakes. Am very happy to know that we can get it back.
One question that I have for you is why did you want to leave the group? Robb mentioned that the person who deleted the page was only trying to delete himself from the group. What can we do to keep you? Are you coming to the dyno day on Saturday?

Mods give their time freely when they can - spending long hours editing shitty posts or policing the various sub-forums is not a requirement. They only ask that we do what we can when we can, and that we have a willingness to help keep this online community going so that it can provide a place where enthusiats can find valuable, reliable info.
Any preconceived notion that we get paid or are privy to sweet backdoor deals and huge discounts is incorrect - we volunteer to be mods, nothing more. Fat fingers and itchy mouse-clicking fingers sometimes get in the way, but thinking there was ill will behind it isn't fair to us.
