ATTN: Oklahoma guys, anyone do there own wrench work?
Oklahoma guys, Anyone do your own wrench work on your LSx powered car? I know its probably a dumb question. I'm just curious whos hands on. Not to bash or anything like that. Just curious how far you've gone. Some people can and choose to get it done because they don't have the time and have the money. More power to you. I'm just a poor good ol' boy.
Myself, i've worked on cars all my life so i'm pretty hands on. I've done stuff I wish I never done in the first place LOL! So far on my 2005 Pontiac GTO (6.0 LS2 / A4) I've done headers, full exhaust, and recently a 3800 stall converter. I'm about to do a cam and lifter swap in the next couple of weeks, when ever I get motivated I guess. I'm honestly not look forward to it. It'll be my first cam swap myself (i've helped in the past on friends car years ago), unless anyone wants to help? LOL. Anyway after that the suspension will need serious help, another project to look forward to. Its never ending.
Anyway, thats my story, how about you guys?

I wish I was hands on enough to build a 4l60e! I'm taking mine out for the 3rd time in 2 weeks. I did how ever get to drive it for almost 300 miles before I lost all forward and reverse movement.

I do all of my own work. Except rebuild auto transmissions! Larry I'm trying to tell you man, let Wayne do it.
I grew up working on farm tractors and heavy equipment. Caterpillar is in my blood. I have done all of the work on every vehicle I own. My dad has owned his onwn diesel service ever since I was a little kid and I have been involved in all of that. That's how I got started.
I dont trust many places around here to do good work and really cant justify spending the money when it's something I can do on my own.

I have a very hard time trusting shops with my car. Call it weird, paranoid or whatever ya want but if I do all the work myself then I know exactly what was done & how. There are no surprises or unknown changes. Pride is the last thing, just knowing you tore it down yourself, reassembled & everything worked right is a great feeling.
