These floods are getting pretty regular. Last year's dust bowl is a distant memory now. For the second time since April the water is so deep that it's impossibile for many in my area to even pull out of their driveways. Portions of I94 seem to have merged with the Chicago river earlier this morning, as boat travel was about the only way you'd be going anywhere along the section just north of the city.
The sewer and drainage system just isn't able to handle these massive rain events. Perhaps it's time to move to higher ground.
