LS1 RX7 failed inspection in MO

Hi, I have an 85 RX7 with LS1 swap. The local tire shop failed me because I have an engine that did not come with the car. "The manufacturer didn't certify this chassis for this engine" .. then he said i need to take my car to highway petrol troop C (or something like that).
Do you guys have any advice? Do know of a car enthusiastic friendly shop around STL metro west area? thanks

Best option is to post on an RX7 engine swap sight & ask. Am sure that there is a simple solution.

I'd just try it at another place that may not be so damn picky. That's ridiculous. I hate having to get vehicles inspected. Seems like it's always something.

That is not illegal in MO. Take it somewhere else. They can bitch if there isn't the proper emissions stuff in place, but in MO, the engine not being the one that came in it, doesn't hold water. If anything, report that inspector to troop C.

I will try to remember some of the guys I knew over there, and see if I can send you to a decent inspector.

LOL, I got dinged almost $800 in registration and taxes for my benz when I moved to Iowa. Does MO have a safety inspection or is this part of an emissions inspection?
