So I've been sitting on my 408 build for months now because I no longer have access to the same lift that was used to remove the ls1 and i don't want to pay the $600 my local shop wants to do the install. I desperately want to get this engine installed by end of May so does anyone have access to a lift and a proper work space that i can rent or trade booze/parts for the use of the lift for a weekend? I'd greatly appreciate any help. I'm located in Joliet at the I-80 and Larkin exit area. thanks again- Rich

I'd say $600 is pretty cheap.

Most shops are slammed with work this time of year.

I'm not saying $600 isn't cheap. I just don't want to pay someone for something that I know I can do.
