anyone from the burbs ever been to the Pulaski rd. street races? i always hear people talk about them around here (manteno) and my cousins house (mokena/frankfort) but i have never gone. i want to go but i dont wanna drive 40 min to see a bunch of imports so im wondering if anybody has gone and if there are f-bodies that go out there?? i think alot of people go to Dodee road or something like that.

Peterson & Pulaski? I don't remember anyone ever actually racing there. It was a meeting spot to set stuff up. The racing was done elsewhere (on Cicero by... ). At least that's how it was done 5-7 years ago when I was still in that scene.

i guess everyone meets at a burgerking right there on pulaski then goes to an industrial area where they actually race. im guessing its mostly a meet but people race pretty often too

Most of the chicago street races i've been to were a waste of time, you have to find the guys who dont talk much trash, they are the ones who mean buisness

Must be a different part of Pulaski then.... maybe on the south side. The meeting spot I'm thinking of is a gas station. No industrial park is involved, and this is all on the north side. Not even sure if anyone still uses those spots up here now. It was pretty popular in the street scene going back to at least the mid-'90s from what I recall...maybe longer. But I haven't been involved in that stuff for at least 5 years.

Any real racing is setup via phone or whatever and done privately. There's very few meets that happen where a bunch of fast **** shows up...and the meets that are like that are usually an invite-only type of deal as well.

Right , people who really race have really good spots and tend not to let them out, otherwise dumbass people or kids go and attract attention, doing stupid ****, telling even more people and before you know it you have cops patroling the area every 10 minutes from then on.

The last place I street raced we were there 20 minutes before even seeing another car.

yea see when i get the t/a its going to be stock for a bout a month because im spending most of my money on the car itself. and even then its not going to be anything impressive...just full exhaust, lid and intake probably
