The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
McCloud went 10.teens on a Strim and stock shortblock, on Edelbrock heads. Something like that could EASILY see 9.50s i cant keep up with that **** like i used to but low 9s are probably attainable on that if not something else.Andy
Randy a c 4, you and doctor n2o could start a club. Maybe call it 250 or bust, or Lt 1 for life or somthing like that. Hahaha just kiddin.
You could probably save some cash and go with a truck 351 out of the junkyard and just put nice internals in locally. Dont worry about those main girdles, all they do is hold your parts in a nice pile when it blows. The 2 bolt 351s have easily taken 800 hp so I wouldnt be to concerned. Either do TFS High Ports or AFR. The AFRs are more expensive, but they will out-flow the High Ports significantly out of the box. I believe the High Ports flow 257@.500 and 267 cfm@.600 while the AFRs flow 291@.500 and 306 cfm@.600. I would look at Edelbrock Super EFI intake and probably 83# injectors. The PMS will work nicely or the AEM or a twEECer.
You will peg the **** out of that ProM 80mm, I would look at an SCT Bigair 2800 meter, cheaper and more tuneable on the high horsepower cars. 70mm TB is probably perfect for the YSi and the cam selection wont be that important, you will have gobs of power to spare, so you can probably get away with an OTS TFS Stage 2 or like. Btw heres a couple of blower kits:

FYI guys have gone 9s on the little S-Trim before so you dont necessarily have to poney up all that cash for a YS or YSi. The T-Trim works nicely as well.
