Another emissions question...

I am going to have my car emissions tested shortly. I Don't have any emissions equipment on the car at all, and I have a cam in it. I had the dyno tuning done by speed inc. Where can I go to pass for certain?

What's up?

You will be facing nothing more than an OBDII scan at any test center in IL. If the PCM was tuned properly, you will pass without issues. Just do a quick scan of your PCM with an OBD scan tool to make sure all the readiness tests are complete.

just don't reset/clear the PCM, it will clear the readyness checks. took about 2 weeks of driving before mine were OK again

+ 96-00 2 readiness tests are allowed not complete
01 & up it is 1 readiness test as long as there no codes it passes.
If it had a previous catalyst codeP0420/430 & failed it has to set the catalyst monitior to pass the test.

WHen you say don't clear/reset the PCm what exactly do you mean ?
Let's say I'm getting ready to go for testing and my car throws a code. If I clear that code are you saying I will fail the test ?
I plan on installing long tubes with an ORY soon. I'm having custom tuning done to remove the rear o2 codes from programming.

Not exactly. You won't get an offical "fail" result, but you won't "pass" either. If you clear the codes just before testing you will be rejected because all your OBD readiness tests will be cleared/reset and show "incomplete". This means that your car is not ready to be tested, therefore cannot pass or fail. You will be told to re-test after driving the car around for a week or two, so that the OBD tests will complete. But once they complete, that same DTC will trigger again. You need proper PCM tuning (or sims) to fix this issue.
