I can pull up next to a cop from the county i live in and not get bothered. They all know me and want to get me for racing not windown tint or something small. I've been told that i wont ever get bothered for anything small cause they all know me for street racing and they will "catch up to me" 5% all the way around for me next time. 35 on the windsheild and a 5% banner on top...

Thats sweet, but the rest of us don't have that privilege... the cops in my home town in IL are dying to catch me doing anything wrong, i got caught in one of those random road blocks on the 4th and they wrote me a ticket for my damn Nitorus being hooked up, no cats, illegal window tint, and no front plate i was like WTF the car is from MI and in that state it's all legal (but the cats) but he still proceded to write the damn tickets the cop stated "Im in his State now and i have to follow ILL rules" aint that some ****, needless to say all those will be dismissed and im filing for harassment.

Don't know the cost of the ticket off the top of my head but warnings all depend on the cop...anyone will tell you that.

Does anyone here know if there are any shops in the area that use Medico brand tints?

Medico is heat resistant, keeps the car a bunch cooler than normal tints.
Also, they make it in clear, so I would do my windsheild too.

guys discussing IL law, It is illegal, and has been for about 2 years now to have tint on any windows ADJACENT to the Windsheild. You can have as dark as you want on the bacl-most do 5% but you can have darker. Some cops just don't care so theres nothing to consern themselves with- besides alot of county cops in IL are total ********* ISP and some Local is the only way to go.

I know this because my dad is an Illinois State Police officer-
Also there is no car Year restrictions with a doctors note, as long as it is permitted by the Secretary of State you have nothing to worry about

Oh and the tickets are going from $75 up to $250 now from what i read and what i was told

Illinois
Front Driv. NO / Front Pass. NO / Rear Side ANY / Rear ANY* / 1984 ?

Note : If window tint is applied to the rear-back window, a right and left rear-view mirrors are required. Cars before 1982 model year are exempt from IL tint law.

I would put 2.5% on for ya if you come to Minnesota It looks mighty fine on my hugger orange vert! Dangorous at night though i must say.. Cannot see anything but light bulbs. (dangerous for people walking or on bike, as you will not see them) If i drive the car, its weather to have the top dropped.. Dont roll with the windows up that often, especially at night... something to think about...

Ok then heres a question , say I get my windows tinted (nothing too ridiculous 25%) on the sides and my car is sitting in a parking lot and a cop rolls by and sees it. Can they ticket it for tint just sittin there? I wouldn't think so but that seems like the kinda **** cops would do around here. My mom got a ticket for parking in our driveway over the sidewalk with no city sticker on her van. WTF!

in a parking lot?, no, unless the owner of the parking lot allows it, parked on the side of the street? yes, and sidewalks are "city property" so if your over the sidewalk they can

i personally have never heard of such things happening so i wouldnt worry about, but its something to keep in mind
