Default Emissions Test Story

So I went for my emissions test this morning.

I pulled in and the guy says," Damn bro, that thing sounds mean." I said, "Yeah, shes a pissed off that she has to come in for a test."

So he hooks the cable to the OBDII port and says it should take a few minutes. About twenty seconds later...the printer starts printing out the test results. **PASS**

The guy starts laughing and says, "Man, it's amazing what you can do to these computers." I said, "Yep!" With a grin on my face. He says, " You have all your emissions equipment on there right?" I said, "Oh yeah, it's illegal to remove any of that stuff." He says, "Alright get outta here."

I opened the cutout and flased the converter on the way out and left a cloud of smoke.

Thanks, to Matt and Marcin for making this story possible.

I remember living a similar story back in '04 when my WS6 went in for it's first test. Lopey idle, aroma of raw exhaust, passed the test within 30 seconds.

The guys testing cars in other lanes even came over to ask me questions about the car.

No problems here either, didn't even bother capping the cutout that day. Pulled in, they plugged in their little gadget and told me to have a nice day. No questions at all.

the guys at speed assured me there would be no problem (as long as they don't look underneath).
