Default Insurance Questions

Alright guys i gotta couple questions, im 20 and im gonna be renting a house here soon with my buddy since my parents are moving. My SS is registered under my moms name on the insurance and im registered under her buick. However im able to drive all cars on our policy. Now when they move im gonna be keeping her buick for an everyday driver, am i still gonna be able to keep my car? I was thinking even if she registered it in her name in Wisconsin(thats where they r moving) and we left the car at my new place, as long as like the insurance company knows its at there sonds place there shouldnt be a problem right? If anyone has any info on this or what i could do that would be awesome. Thanks Alot

im not so sure youll be able to do the whole insurance thing in another state. you maybe able to get away with it as long as you dont get pulled over or anything. If so they may ask why your insured in another state? Im not sure about that though. What you can do is you can put yourself as a primary driver on the buick and the camero as an occasional vehicle. Its a lot cheaper that way. Plus you get a multi car discount. What i can tell you for sure is that its going to be a **** load more expensive than what your paying especially if youve got accidents! Another thing is that if you dont drive your car in the winter you can claim only comprehensive on the camero which is really cheap, its like 20 bucks a month. Then when you drive in again just start it back as it was. The main reason why its going to be so expensive is because your 20! As soon as you turn 21 its going to go way down! Mine went from 230 a month all the way to 110 a month when i turned 21. Your case may be different but its not cheap. You can also get a high dedutable. If you get say a 1000 deductable it will be a lot cheaper just it wouldnt be good if you got into an accident and didnt have the grand to get your car fixed. Good luck though with your choice i hope that helped some!

Please check with your Agent or Ins Co. I do Insurance for a living and certain Co's have different rules on this. It can be REALLY bad and they could deny the claim if you had one. That means no coverage!!! Read your contract also.

Really not a factor if he is your friend unless he will comit Insurance fraud for you? People tend to not take Ins serious until it goes wrong, talk to your Agent and make sure you know what your options are and what may happen.

insurance is the biggest waste of money.only if they returned some of the money every year or so if you didn't have any incidents.

Post Insurance Questions

Having been in the Insurance for 27years I will try and answer your question.

1st even though you can drive any of the cars if you are in the SS and have a wreck you will have some explaining to do. If your Mom moves out of state they will go by the Adress she uses not yours. I know insurance is high but is best to be honest than to have problems if you have a large loss and find out then your not covered. Will try to answer any other questions. I know that wasn't what you wanted to hear. And yes Insurance is way to high.
