Default Kolkmeyer Crowned 2005 GIR SCSS Champ!

KOLKMEYER EARNS 2005 SCSS SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP!

St. Louis, MO, November 19th---Kevin Kolkmeyer was crowned the 2005 Southside City
Speed Shop Street Car Shootout Series Champion during the 39th annual Gateway International
Raceway Awards Banquet held in the Jefferson Ballroom of the Millennium Hotel in the shadow of
the Gateway Arch. Twenty-five year-old Kolkmeyer, of Jerseyville, Illinois, received the second-ever
SCSS Championship trophy from the reigning Miss Gateway International Raceway, St. Louis Rams
cheerleader Michele Patrick.

Kolkmeyer’s nitrous oxide-injected 2002 Chevrolet Camaro qualified at all fifteen events he attended
and earned the title over 3,049 other entries which participated in the twenty-three race series.
During the season, he appeared in his first SCSS final round on May 17th and quickly followed that
runner-up finish with his first SCSS event victory on May 31st. His season championship was the first
SCSS series title for a General Motors driver.

Kolkmeyer trailed Asmir Catic’s 2003 Ford Mustang for most of the 2005 season but the Jerseyville,
Illinois, driver eventually surpassed Catic with three weeks remaining in the series. Catic finished
third in the final standings after a tremendous late-season charge by St. Louisan Greg Boschert,
whose 1966 Ford Mustang ended the year only two qualifying points behind Kolkmeyer. A total of
177 competitors earned qualifying points during the series.

The championship is decided by a point total based on one point awarded for each time a driver
qualifies in the top sixteen at each Southside City Speed Shop Street Car Shootout Series event at
Gateway International Raceway in Madison, IL. Kolkmeyer’s Camaro ran as quick as 11.17 seconds at 122.24 miles
per hour during the year and qualified in the top half of the field on eight occasions. Kolkmeyer earns
the honor of displaying the permanent driver number G1 for the 2006 SCSS series.
