Darren....sounds to me like it was a faulty burst panel....it didn't "blow" from what you described, it "imploded"....maybe a problem with PCV (positive crankcrase ventilation) or something like that. More than likely, it is just a faulty burst panel from FAST. It sounds like it sucked in toward the intake, maybe on deceleration?

ANyways, I would have the enitre intake looked at by FAST, have LPE send it and the burst panel back to them. I just had to send in my nitrous solenoid, it would stick open (boy, that could have sucked major ****). Good thing I found it out now.

I agree with Scott, it's probably a faulty part. Darren, you need to change careers and get into product testing. If things can go wrong, you seem to find them. G.M. should of hired you before they decided to use the 7.5 rear in our cars... Bob

I wonder who to press on this issue....considering LPE did both the PCV mod and the burst panel install. Could be a faulty part but what are the odds?? Scott you said that you have heard of them failing but Jeff (LPE) was told by Comp they had never had any problems with them. It would be nice to get a straight answer from someone about it!! Implode is a good word for it, however when it happened, I was letting the clutch out for second gear under normal acceleration...hadn't been driving the car hard at all and then Poof 5 grand on the tach.

Maybe I should test for everyone..not just GM...here's a list

1) Fucked up Moser rearend....axles didn't fit for ****, pinion seal replaced twice and axle seal leak, and rear cover bolts leak.

2) QA1 seal went bad...still trying to figure that one out.

3) Centerforce clutch blow's out after 3 miles...normal break in.

4) Original motor with bad piston slap

5) Second motor done in because of NON use of thread lock on cam bolts...smart mechanic there!!

6) Heads messed up from the number 5 mentioned issue

7) Third motor done in by Fuel Truck Dummy

8) Burst panel issue...install/ faulty part???

9) ASP pulley replaced after being honed out due to crank bolt loosening up.

Geez, that's enough...dont you all agree.

I'm sure I've left something out....so how's your car running?? Try any juice on it yet?? I want to see those wheels in person....I'm sure the pictures don't give it total justice.

Car runs great.. It's stock. I have everything to install the juice/exhaust just waiting for warmer weather. The cold drains my motivation since I won't drive it anyway. Plus I was more concerned right now with getting it to look how I wanted. It's too bad you are having so much trouble. Makes me want to leave mine alone.

Chris, don't be silly, I'm the only one with this kind of luck. It would be a miracle if my car would run 1 year without issues

Im pretty sure i hold the record for pulling my iroc motor and putting it in 3 times in one day thats bad luck and then putting in the blower only to have some asshead run 100psi backwords through my fuel system blowing out the regulater and giving the pistions one hell of a fuel bath.
