What I am talking about in regards to the rust is the bolts/rivets that hold to the rims together. Since they are 2 piece rims.

I have seen and heard of them just falling apart. They are not meant in the least bit to be driven on the streets, they are meant for track ONLY. There are people that reported that, they fell apart while driving them on the streets. Not necc as a daily driver either. They fail to do them getting over heated for periods of time.

I thought they stopped making the Draglite XP's ? Did they bring them back ?
I was thinking of putting a set of Draglites on my 01 SS next spring. Is there more grinding with the Pro Stars than the Draglites or are the two about the same ? Do any of you guys have any before/after pictures of how much needs to be ground off the calipers ? I'd be curious to see, I love the look of the wheels but the only reason I am hesitant to buy them is the grinding. My car is not a daily driver but would be street driven.
thanks

-Nick

You can get them as a one piece wheel or a two piece with screws. I've never seen rivits? They do say NOT FOR STREET USE when you open the box. But I have driven mine 2500-3000 miles on the street. If I were driving my car more I would have went with a "street" wheel. Andy

I think you get the award for most BS post in a thread for 05 for this one.

That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

Bogarts are better in every way and don't "rust" as you say.

Now if you're running a bolted version and drive them through the salt and rain/snow, then maybe I could see the bots getting surface rust, but not the nuts as their coated.

Then again, if you're going to be driving in those conditions, maybe you should've bought some Tonka truck wheels & tires instead.

I'm on my second set of Bogarts with not one complaint.

Steve's the man!

Flame suit on.

well said fern, bogarts are well made wheels of course not meant to drive into potholes or in the snow/salt. i never had any problems with my bogarts on any car i had them on.

I have seen friends of mine that have bogarts, and had them on the car for under a month! And the car sat outside, and the bolts that hold the 2 pieces together, became rusty as hell.

I personal don't own bogarts, I have prostars myself. Hell, I like the looks of bogarts a hell of alot better then the prostars. But I am just saying what I have heard, read, and seen first hand. Granted most people who are running a drag wheel are not driving with them as a daily driver, however I simply shared my experiences with bogarts, if dd is what he intends to do with them.

It's kinda like the damn weld lugs, those rust fast as hell, if they are in any kinda rain.

But in the same breath I would of decided to go with bogarts, since I DON"T use my car as a DD and it is garaged, but did not want to spend the extra $ nor did I want to wait long to get them.

So keep flamming
