Anyone else have problems with people hacking into their account? I don't even use it much and I've had it happen like 3 or 4 times now... It gets old fast...

No issues. Most of the email you get saying you were hacked is from hackers. They are trying to get your info. Forward the email to spoof@paypal.com I must get one a week.

i figure that if i really need to use it again, ill open it up, use it, then close it again

Those spoof emails are simply trying to gather information...they aren't even from Paypal. I delete and ignore them. Nothing happens to your account.
The same thing goes on with EBay. If you are smart you won't have any problems.

Yea, I've gotten a few e-mails from hackers saying that their is a problem with my ebay account and they need me to log in so I can see the problem so I e-mailed ebay and they wanted to see the e-mail. I emailed it to them and they said that nothing was wrong with my account and that if I had entered my info then who ever send the e-mail would have all my sign in information. The e-mails look real too but the guy from ebay told me that they never ask for sign-in info from a direct link through your e-mail. Just watch out.

My ebay and paypal both got hacked. I got the typical emails from both and thought they were the scams that I've seen before. However, when I tried to log onto both, I couldnt get into them. I had a strong password that no one could know so I dont know how it happened, but I must have caught it before they could do anything malicious. It was easy to get it taken care of, but it's not a fun feeling.

Naw. It was legit because it didnt even include any hyperlinks. It said just to go to ebay and log onto your account. When I did that, ebay took me through the whole security methods on changing my password. After doing so, I then got an email from ebay confirming my password change, etc and I could then get in again.

It helps to forward them on using the spoof@paypal.com email address. PayPal will investigate it for you and confirm whether it was from them or not with a return email. Ebay (PayPal's owner) has a similar spoof@ebay.com address for ebay scams.

I had my ebay account hacked into once. The damn guy that did it started buying cars with my user ID!!! Thankfully ebay figured out it wasnt me doing it before i even knew it was happening and they took care of all of it. You just have to make sure your password is good enough (mine apparently wasnt) and you should be good.
