If you live in IL and guy a car from a dealer in WI...

Does the dealer issue me a temp sticker and then I have to file for plates on my own?

thats what i did. then you have to pay state tax when you register for your plates. i had a wi temp sticker.

Yes. It's called a 7 day drive away in IL, not sure for WI.

John, you coulda just asked. Yeah we give you a temp plate and you get everything taken care of in IL. I've sold a number of cars to people in IL and no problems so far.
