yeah I did miss that. As far as comparing, thats like a weld up kit. Most places are going to charge you a decent amount for the welding. The tubing doesnt cost anything. probably like $150. We dont use anyones premade kit, we use straight pipes and bend. If you do use a prebent, and it fits perfect, then you're lucky. However, if it doesnt, thats where you run into what most weld in kits have for problems, whoever is installing will charge you more because they have to install, then uninstall and then reinstall after altering. But like i said, you might get lucky and not have any problems with something like that, but then again, you may. Anything that is mass produced has some error i it. thats why im hesitant to even pursue something with sending out the cages we make as a weld in kit for another shoop to install. It just can be bad, or it could be perfect.

For the guys asking what needs to be removed for the interior here's basically it...
Paint: I can make the cage any color for the most part. We usually recommend satin because when you touch gloss it leaves smudges constantly. Its up to you but either way its $150.
Interior: There's a lot that needs to come out of the car. If it has t-tops. there's a little plastic piece that has two screws in it on it next to the t-top/sail panel meeting area that needs to be taken out on both sides, the sail panels, rear panels, side molding panels, all need to be loose. all the seatbelts need to be unbolted, from the seat and floor. The two front seats need to be completely unbolted/wires unpluged. The rear anchors on the deck lid need to be taken out, and i think i got everything. We do need the interior panels loose, and the front seats loose. other then that i think thats it...

Well for a $350 difference I would like to know. Just measure two pipes with the same length and post weights. Then I can determine a percentage.

Thanks. The 20lbs is not worth the $350 IMO.

The big thing about chromoly is the added amount of welding in it. Tig VS. Mig is far more time consuming. Any cage is still about 90% labor anyways, there's basically no money into them as far as parts...

I'd run chromoly too mike, Just a personal preference as well. 20 lbs is 20lbs. Thats why people ditch a 5 lb air bag also

I understand it is worth it to some people. Every little thing counts. I just meant to me it is not worth it. Not building a race car. If money were no object I would go for it though. Can you guys hide the main hoop so you can not see it from a side view? It is so close it seems possible.

Are you worried about the backseat at all? The problem with that is the sail panel kicks out and that could be a problem. but if you do step a foot to the side you will probably see it thru the window. I think the !Limo tint mod is in order to truly hide it...

Yeah I know. I have a street car not a race car. I am also on a budget. But it is a more permanent solution so maybe I will think about it more. It is probably not easy to change to CM in the future if the car ever did go full race.

Do it right, do it once, or don't do it at all.

Trust me. I've been there.
