Just wanted to make sure this got posted here since it will be in your area. The rumor is that Rick Wagoner will make the official annoucement on Thursday, August 10 at the GM Tech Center. A last minute Camaro rally was called by FbodFather, aka Scott Settlemiere and the second link is the invitation needed to get in with directions to the tech center and times for everything. The first link is a thread with the article in the Detroit free press. Hope a lot of you can make it.

EDIT: Also, those who go can sign up for a tour of the GM heritage center from 2-5 that day, huge collection of awesome cars and concepts.

GM Tech Center is an AWESOME place to visit!
I was there in January for the unveil event, wow what a place!

I'm seriously considering an overnight trip to Detroit.

Well I was all set to go with hotel room booked and all...
But then I got OWNED by work conflicts so I had to cancel my plans.

I will be there working thursday and friday but will be down on saturday with 4 buddies of mine, who all have camaros as well.

 

I will be there with my black beater. It is far from a show car, but I am all about supporting the push for the new camaro. I am already saving and plan to buy it with cash. I could care less how many horses it comes with from the factory as long as:
1. Rear wheel drive, solid axle
2. V8
3. Very easily upgradable aftermarket wise
4. Relatively cheap...the hell with all the fancy options, give me a stripper with the first 3 in the list please

 

So who all is going? Looks like the weather is going to hold out. I will be there with my dirty ole Z. Only a 2 hour drive for me.

 

I am here! This is gonna be big! Parked my car up front! They have huge speaker towers for tbe big announcement. Media parking off to the side. This is gonna be crazy! If you are in the area be here by 11am to enjoy the festivities. The 2008 concept will be making a showing too complete with a police escort!
