Default Just bought a camaro

I picked up a 1998 Z28 with 50,000 miles on it, yesterday from oconomowoc wi. It is stock except for a flowmaster muffler the guy before him put on it and window tint. Sounds good, seems to be restrictive at high rpm's though. Leather interior with no cracks or discoloration. original texas car so there is no rust on the underbody.
Love the ride, the responsiveness and damn does it move.

haven't seen to many green ones either.

I am a fan of the hartops also.

Default good deal

looks like a good deal. I just got my f-body at beginning of summer and have had a blast with it. Had the same problem with it feeling like it lacking top end horsepower, ended up finding the original fuel filter on it with 53,000 miles on it. Replace it before you do anything else because its cheap and easy, and even if your old one isn't bad you will know when the last time it was changed. When you get the old one off, blow through it with the arrow pointing away from you, don't breath in tho . If its hard to blow through, problem solved. I definetly could tell the differance.

i usually do maintenance immediately after getting a vehicle. this one i squeezed into the budget so the oil, tranny fluid, rear end, plugs, and filters have to wait a little bit.
where is the fuel filter located on these? gonna have to buy a chiltons manual i guess.

thinking abour running royal purple in the tranny and rear end and possibly ams oil in the motor. read through alot of the "which oil is better " threads and i don't think i can redily get my hands on the GC and don't want to be switching back and fourth between oils.

i assume there are no grease points on these cars, everything is hermdically sealed right?

off to seattle.. wish me luck at the airport. stupid terrorists.

Looks like you got a great deal. Have any pics of how your exhaust is? The owner before me welded in a Flowmaster too, along with some huge chrome tips that just don't look right. Your exhaust looks hidden, and thats the look i am after as well.

i thought flowmasters on ls1's didnt mix? i lost a lot of top end power due to a clogged fuel filter also.

from what i have heard they don't, but its how it came when i bought it. i'm not going to touch the exhaust until i make up my mind if i'm going to go with a turbo or not.
if nothing else i'll install a cut out, i do like the sound of the flowmaster though.

i've had a fuel fiter sitting on my shelf since i got the car, i will probably get to it tonight. just not thrilled about taking a gas bath, even with it being bled off.

I kind of like the sound and tone of the Flowmaster as well. Im getting headers, ORY, and a cutout installed right now at HAM. So it should sound really nice now

Thanks for the pics. I think i want to have mine done like that too. Kind of like dumped, but its still after the axle so it won't be so bad inside. I also won't have to worry about polishing tips anymore. Tips kind of look out of place on a camaro anyway, especially mine.
